iOS · Android · U.S. Pacific hours
Nexus Team Labs does nearshore mobile app development in Mexico for U.S. companies: senior engineers in Mexicali, on the California border, who design, build and publish iOS and Android apps in Flutter, Swift, Kotlin and React Native — working your time zone, two hours from San Diego.

01 — What we build
Our team covers product design, the app itself, the backend it talks to, and the release to both stores — so one accountable team owns the result. These are the apps U.S. companies most often bring to us.
Work orders, inspections, deliveries and service reports for crews on the road — offline-first, with photos, signatures and GPS built in.
→ Offline sync · Geotagging
Ordering, accounts, rewards and notifications for retail and service brands, connected to your POS, ecommerce and inventory.
→ Payments · Loyalty · Push
Mobile front ends for the ERP, CRM or shop-floor software you already run, so people can approve, capture and check data away from a desk.
→ APIs · Integrations
A focused first version on both platforms to put in front of real users, built on a codebase you can keep growing instead of rewriting.
→ Flutter · Fast iteration
02 — Choosing a stack
There is no single right answer — there is the right answer for your app. We work in all four stacks, so our recommendation follows your requirements, not whatever one framework we happen to sell.
| Factor | Flutter | React Native | Native (Swift / Kotlin) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Codebase | One for iOS and Android | One for iOS and Android | One per platform |
| UI consistency | Pixel-identical on both | Native components per OS | Fully platform-native |
| Best fit | Business, field and customer apps | Teams with an existing React web stack | Heavy hardware, background or OS-specific features |
| Access to device APIs | Broad, plus native plugins when needed | Broad, plus native modules | Complete, first day of each OS release |
| Relative build effort | Lower | Lower | Higher — two apps |
01
For most business apps, Flutter is where we start. Our nearshore Flutter developers ship one codebase to both stores, with consistent UI and less to maintain over the life of the product.
02
When the app leans on Bluetooth hardware, heavy background work or the newest OS features, native wins. Our Kotlin developers work nearshore alongside Swift engineers so both apps move in step.
03
If your web product already runs on React, React Native lets your in-house team read, review and eventually own the mobile code with a shallow learning curve.
03 — Under the hood
A mobile app is only as good as the data it shows. Warehouses, rural routes, basements and plant floors all have dead zones, so we design apps that keep working without signal — and APIs that keep everything consistent once they reconnect.
01
Forms, photos and signatures are saved on the device first, so users never lose work because a connection dropped mid-report.
→ No signal, no problem
02
Queued changes upload automatically when the device reconnects, with retry logic and clear status so users know what is still pending.
→ Automatic, no user action
03
The web side your office team uses: APIs, dashboards and user management, built in Node.js or Laravel on PostgreSQL.
→ Node · Laravel · PostgreSQL
04
Deployed on AWS with Docker and wired into your ERP, CRM, payments or IoT data, monitored around the clock for critical systems.
→ AWS · Docker · MQTT
If the app is one piece of a larger platform, our custom software development team builds the rest — and for plant-floor use cases like tool control or line alerts, see our manufacturing software.
04 — Featured project
Services · 2024 · iOS & Android
A service company needed its technicians to stop writing reports twice — once on paper at the client site and again at the office. We built an iOS and Android app that works completely offline: technicians capture the service report, collect the client's digital signature and take geotagged photos, even with no signal. Everything syncs automatically in the background as soon as the phone reconnects.
05 — Process
Timelines depend on scope, integrations and the number of user roles, so we don't quote a number before we understand the app. What we can promise is visibility: you hold a working build on your own phone early, and every two weeks after that.
01
Users, workflows, offline needs and integrations. We recommend a stack and give you a written plan with milestones.
02
Navigable prototypes you can tap through before any code, plus the data model and sync strategy behind them.
03
Two-week sprints with real demos on devices. Tests, code review and CI from day one, with beta builds through TestFlight and Play testing tracks.
04
Store listings, review submission and a supervised release — then ongoing support, OS updates and new features.
06 — Why Mexicali
~2 hours from San Diego ✎
Mobile projects run on fast feedback: a stakeholder taps through a build, spots a flow that feels wrong, and the fix lands the same afternoon. That loop breaks when your developers are asleep during your workday. Our team sits on the Mexicali / Calexico border and works U.S. Pacific time, so design reviews, sprint demos and release calls happen live.
Our senior engineers are English-fluent and bilingual, and USMCA proximity keeps contracting simple for U.S. companies. When you want to meet in person, we're about two hours from San Diego — read more about working with a nearshore team for California or how our nearshore software development model works.
Project-based: we own the app from discovery to launch against an agreed scope and milestone plan. Dedicated team: senior mobile engineers join your roadmap and your rituals, and scale up or down as you need — see our dedicated development teams. Either way, you own the code, the store accounts and the data.
07 — FAQ
It means your iOS and Android app is designed and built by a team in a nearby country that works your hours. Our team is in Mexicali, on the California border and on U.S. Pacific time, so product decisions, design reviews and release planning happen live with your people instead of through overnight handoffs.
For most business apps, a cross-platform framework like Flutter gives you one codebase for iOS and Android and a faster path to both stores. We recommend native Swift and Kotlin when the app depends heavily on platform-specific features, background processing or hardware integrations. We make that call with you during discovery, based on your requirements, not our preferences.
Yes. We build offline-first apps that store data on the device and sync automatically in the background when a connection returns. Our field app for technicians captures reports, client signatures and geotagged photos with no signal and syncs them later without any action from the user.
Yes. We prepare builds, store listings, screenshots and privacy disclosures, handle the review process for the App Store and Google Play, and publish under your own developer accounts so you keep full ownership of the app and its listings.
Yes. Most apps need an API, an admin panel and integrations with systems you already run. We build them with Node.js or Laravel on PostgreSQL, deployed on AWS with Docker, or we connect the app to your existing backend and ERP.
It depends on scope, integrations and how many user roles the app has. After discovery we give you a written plan with milestones. We work in two-week sprints with a real demo at the end of each one, so you see the app on your phone early and can adjust priorities before launch.
